Ode to Paris no

Paris my
spiritual home on and off for 25 years. The city
of food, art and culture, fashion and style that
educated me from 1977. My university of life
where I met food writers, foodies, writers, poets,
photographers, collectors and collectibles
dealers, like myself. I only connected with
creative individuals.
This is the city where I met myself, found my
capabilities, gained freedom, self confidence and
independence. Where I learned the hard way how to
make a living, buying and selling collectibles,
between London and Paris. Walked my talk and made
creative life long friends.
Paris changed my style, my look, my
taste for the good things in life. A bon viveur.
Yes, I became a cultural snob, a culture vulture
thirsting for knowledge.
Living in Paris is an education. I would advise
any young person to live there and learn to speak
French if they are lost in life and unsure which
path to take.
If I had to relive my life and choose a city, it
would be Paris. A city one can always return to.
Written
in Brighton circa 2014.
