Cottage

At the cottage
with dad: Beer. Buddies. Beer. Sitting under a
tree. Beer. Sitting in the boat. Beer. Fishing.
Beer.
At the cottage
with mom: Pack the beer, pack the clothes, pack
the food, pack the gear, pack the kids, unpack
the car, kill the bugs, make the beds, cook the
food, do the dishes, cook the food, do the dishes,
cook the food, do the dishes, serve the beer.
Pack the food, pack the gear, pack the kids, pack
the car. Unpack the car, unpack the food, unpack
the gear, unpack the kids, do the laundry, do the
laundry, do the laundry. Pray for rain.
Dad loved the
cottage. Mom? Not so much.
