New Initiative
by Michael C.
Keith
During his presidential
campaign, Bernie Sanders referred to Hillary
Clinton as Secretary Clinton. His strategists
believed that the term “secretary”
conveyed inferiority, as in “She was only
a secretary.”
When Sanders became
president, he sought to eliminate all the titles
in his administration beginning with “secretary.”
Hence forth, they would be replaced with the term
“commissar,” as in Commissar of Defense,
Commissar of State, and Commissar of Education .
. .
A Republican Congress was
quick to strike down his initiative.
