A Short but Meaningless Life
A Millennial Saga
by Michael C. Keith

Billy Simpson had died at 27. He’d been born into a family of substantial wealth and privilege, affording him all the advantages one could imagine. While he failed to achieve distinction in prep school, due to low grades and a lack of athletic prowess, the Ivy’s doors stood open to him because of his parent’s prominence and eminent ancestry. However, Billy had decided against pursuing higher education in preference of a long-held plan. When he turned 21, a vast trust fund made it possible for him to do what he always wanted. He purchased an expensive condo overlooking the East River and set about to realize his unique goal. Six years later, after a relentless diet of fast food, video games, and 281-thousand texts, he let his 450-pound torso fall from his eleventh floor balcony.
