Fifty Shades of Romeo and Juliet
by Alex Andy Phuong

In 2015, theatergoers flocked to see the controversial film adaptation of E.L. James's Fifty Shades of Grey.  Audiences were shocked by the pornographic nature of this film, and many others liked to make fun of it since the original novel was Twilight fan fiction.  (And of course, either people love or hate Edward Cullen, Bella Swan, and Taylor Lautner.)

Back in 1998, Shakespeare in Love (1998) wowed audiences with a unique take on William Shakespeare's iconic love story Romeo and Juliet.  People in modern times also sometimes have a love/hate relationship with this film, and many would argue that Saving Private Ryan is a much better film.

And of course, Romeo and Juliet has stood the test of time ever since the original play premiered during the Elizabethan era.

William Shakespeare has remained (in)famous for his bawdy language (given that many would refer to him as "The Bard").

But remember, a high school teacher taught Mr. Alex Andy Phuong that writing (especially poetry) is usually about three topics.

1. Sex
2. Love
and
3. Death

Feel the poetry!
